Good morning, students! Glad to see you.
How are you? Elina, you were absent at the last lesson. How are
you? Are you OK?
As you see today we are having an unusual lesson. We have
guests. So I’m sure that you will do your best. Try not to keep silence but
to speak as much as possible.
Are you ready to begin? Let’s start.
Look at the blackboard and read the poem:
We go by car and we go by train,
We go by boat and we go by plane.
We go by land, by sea and by air.
We go, go, go from here to there.
What can you say about this poem? What is this poem about? Yes,
you are right.
After reading the poem let’s define the theme of our lesson. What
is the theme of our lesson?
Yes, today we are going on speaking on the theme
“Travelling”.
Do you like to travel?
How do you like to travel?
And whom do you like to travel?
Why do people like to travel?
How do they travel? What are the means of travelling?
Thank you. Now let’s define the aim of our lesson. What
are we going to do at our lesson? What are we going to practice at the
lesson? What must we know to read and to speak about travelling?
What is the plan of our lesson?
Look at the blackboard. Read these words.
1. Reading
2. Vocabulary
3. Speaking
What do you think? What words are they?
The points of the plan are not in correct order. Let’s arrange
them in correct order.
1. Vocabulary
2. Reading
3. Speaking
Now let’s revise the words and expressions on the topic
“Travelling”:
1. Match the words.
2. Synonyms of the word “travelling”.
What is the theme of our lesson?
What synonyms of the word travelling do you know?
3. But these words have some differences. Your task is to match the
words with their meanings.
4. Complete the crossword.
We know that a lot of people are fond of travelling. Among them
some famous people.
Now we’ll read the text about one of them.
After reading be ready to do the test on the content of the
text.
Thank you. Now take your seats at the computers. Find the file
with the number of your group on the screen and open it. Open the file
“Text”. Now start working.
Be attentive, please. Only one answer is correct. At the end of
the test you will get a mark. You have 5 minutes.
You’ve done the test; now let’s see what marks you’ve got. S 1,
S 2, S 3….
Let’s check it.
Relaxation. Let’s have a rest. To your attention a
beautiful song about travelling. Listen, watch and sing. Enjoy and relax.
Do you like the song? Find in the Internet this video and learn
this song for the next lesson, please.
Here are two opinions about travelling. They are quite
different:
1. “Travelling becomes more and more dangerous. Besides, it’s
expensive...”
2. “I like travelling. It’s just great. Travel offers sense of
freedom...”
Which opinion do you agree with? Why?
Let’s divide into 2 groups and prove these statements.
Cinquain [sɪŋ'keɪn] on the theme.
A five line poetic form which consists of 1 noun, 2 adjectives,
3 actions, 4 feeling words, then 1 noun that is the same as top noun
Write the cinquain on the theme “Travelling”.
Now work in pairs, read each other your cinquains and write one
cinquain together and present it us.
So, let’s make a conclusion. What have we done at the lesson? Have
we done everything according to our plan? Look here. (Plan)
So, can we say that we have achieved the aim of our lesson?
Now let’s estimate you.
There is a paper with a tree on it. As you see there are many
people in different position on the tree. Find yourself on the tree and paint
it with red colour.
Most of the students are in the middle and high position. It
shows that you are satisfied with your work at the lesson.
Now your marks for the lesson.
Your homework will be...
Composition:
1.The Ideal Way of Travelling;
2. My Favourite Way of Travelling
Choose one of them.
Thank you for your good work! Good bye.
