Данная методическая разработка
внеклассного мероприятия по английскому языку с элементами формы «Своя игра» предназначена
для учащихся 10 класса и направлена на систематизацию знаний обучающихся по
теме “The British Royal Family”.
Цель: актуализация
и систематизация страноведческих знаний по теме «The British Royal Family».
Задачи:
Образовательная:
- актуализировать знания
обучающихся о культурном и историческом наследии страны изучаемого языка;
- расширить лингвострановедческие
знания по теме «Британская королевская семья»;
- способствовать поддержанию
интереса к учению и формированию познавательной активности посредством
страноведческого материала о королевской семье;
Развивающая:
- способствовать расширению кругозора
обучающихся посредством страноведческого материала о стране изучаемого языка;
- расширить культурологические знания;
- способствовать развитию
коммуникативных компетенций обучающихся.
Воспитательная:
- способствовать воспитанию
уважительного отношения к культуре, традициям, обычаям страны изучаемого языка.
Планируемый результат:
Личностные:
- формировать положительную
мотивацию к обучению и целенаправленной познавательной деятельности;
- воспитывать чувство
толерантности, стремления понять, принять мировоззрение другого народа;
- совершенствовать навыки
диалогической и монологической речи;
Метапредметные:
- научиться организовывать учебное
сотрудничество в команде;
- уметь определять понятия, строить
логическое рассуждение, умозаключение;
-уметь искать нестандартные способы
решения задач.
Предметные:
- использовать в речи ранее изученный
лексический и грамматический материал;
- формировать языковые навыки в
рамках темы «Британская королевская семья».
Внеклассное мероприятие направлено
на формирование:
Познавательных УУД:
- осуществлять осознанное
построение речевого высказывания;
- формулировать ответы на вопросы, высказывать
собственное мнение и позицию, аргументировать ее с позиции партнеров в
сотрудничестве.
Регулятивных УУД:
- уметь планировать свою
деятельность в соответствии с целевой установкой;
- принимать решения и осуществлять
выбор в познавательной деятельности;
- моделировать ситуации поведения
участников в игре.
Коммуникативных УУД:
- адекватно использовать речевые
средства для решения коммуникативных задач;
- учитывать мнения других
участников;
- уметь слушать и воспринимать речь
собеседника.
Ход мероприятия.
Good afternoon, dear students. I am glad
to see you in our game.
Today’s game I will start with a small
part of the poem “Foggy Albion” by Gregoriy Brodskiy.

As you know, our
game is about “The British Royal Family”. Now, you will have a good opportunity
to show your knowledge. You should divide into 2 teams and choose the captain.
What team will start our game? Let’s look it. Captains, who will be the first
to answer the question, start our game. The question is: “What is the official
name of the country where the Queen Elizabeth II live in?”
The team
“(name)” starts our game. However, for the first, I remember you the rules of
the game.
The rules of
the game
There are 2
rounds: the first round consists of 5 sections by 5 questions, each of them may
bring you from 5 to 25 points and the second round consists of 4 sections by 5
questions which may bring you from 10 to 50 points. The teams chooses the section
and price of the question one after another. If the team gives the right
answer, its score will increase by the price of the question. If the team gives
wrong answer, it will loses points by the price of the question. The game will
be finished if all the questions are over. The more points you have, the more
chances you have to become the winner.

1 section is “The Queen”

20 points – The Queen’s title is …. (Elizabeth the Second, by the
Grace of God of the Unitied Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland)
25 points – What record has Queen Elizabeth II set? (world’s longest
reigning Queen regnant and female head of State)
2 section is “Hobbies and Interests”
5 points – The Queen is interested in some activities or hobbies
since early ages. (horse and horse riding)
10 points – What kinds of dogs is the Queen known for? (Corgi)
15 points – Charles, the Prince of Wales is interested in …. . He is
well-known as a keen promoter of British interests. (Architecture, environment,
farming, history)
20 points – What sport does Prince Charles play? (polo)
25 points - “Pig
in a poke” - The task is for opposite team. The price of the
task is 30 points – Who was the Prime Minister when Queen Elizabeth II took
the throne? (Winston Churchill)
3 section is “The Queen’s children”
5 points - He is the youngest among the Queen’s children. He worked as a
schoolteacher and as an actor at the theatre. (Prince Edward)
10 points - Who was once part of the British horse-riding team in the
Olympic Games? (Princess Anne)
15 points – “Pig in a poke” - The task is for opposite team.
The price of the task is 30 points – The Duke and the Queen are cousins,
aren’t they? (Yes, they are)
20 points – Who is the queen’s heir to the throne? (Prince Charles)
25 points – Auction – If a team chooses such task, it has to
make a stake to play in the game, otherwise the task can be “re-bought” by the
other team. The task is “What holiday has the Royal family traditionally
broadcast?”(Christmas)

5 points - What is the family name of the present royal
family? (Windsor)
10 points - He isn’t a monarch. He was born in Greece. (Prince Philip)
15 points – What was the name of Prince Charles’s first wife? (Lady Diana
Spencer)
20 points - She was born on the 9th of
January 1982. Her official title is Her Royal Highness the Duchess of
Cambridge. (Catherine Middleton)
25 points – Who is the only Royal with a master degree? (Prince

during special occasion? (It means that the Queen wants to leave the event
within 5 minutes)
20 points – The Queen
received different kinds of animals (cows, horses, crocodiles) as a present.
What does she do with these animals? (She usually gives the animals to the
Royal Zoo)
25 points – What is the
Queen’s favourite alarm clock? (bagpipes)

5 points – Where does the Royal family live

10 points – Where can we
see a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II? (coins, banknotes)

If both teams have the same number of
points, they will be asked some questions. The team that will give correct
answer gets 10 points.

2) Lady Diana worked with a journalist and
wrote her book. What is the title of the book? (Diana, Her True Story)
