- Your home
task was to prepare projects. Let`s talk about their flags, emblems, symbols, dates
and statistics. We shall listen to three groups-three projects. Get ready to
ask the questions to your classmates and share your ideas about Canada, New
Zealand and Australia. Who will be the first to speak today? You should listen
to her carefully and be ready to answer the questions.

The officially name of Australia is the Commonwealth of
Australia. Australia is a continent, a country
and an island all at the same time. It is the sixth largest country and the
smallest continent in the world. The population of the country is 22 million
people.
Australia is located in the southern hemisphere. That is
why it has summer when we have winter and it has winter when we have summer. It
is interesting to know that January is the hottest month in Australia.
The capital of Australia is Canberra,
which became the capital only in 1927. But there are another main cities
such as Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth.
There
are Australian animals – kangaroo, platypus [ˈplætɪpəs], koala, dingo, echidna,
ostrich, cockatoo.
The building of the Sydney Opera House is one of the greatest architectural
monuments today. It is the work of Danish architect Jorn Utzon. It is
officially opened in October 1973. The idea of the architect was to create a
building resembling blown by wind sails. By popularity Opera House is among the
world biggest landmarks such as the Eiffel Tower and the Egyptian pyramids.

as American bison, Arctic hare, beaver, black bear, coyote, grizzly
bears, gray wolf, red fox, lemming, meadow mice and many
others.
