“BRUSH UP YOUR ENGLISH”

Цели: совершенствовать лексические навыки основных видов речевой                     деятельности через игру-соревнование между учащимися 6х классов, развивать память, речевую догадку, навыки общения в группах, умение принимать совместное решение, обобщить темы ‘Great Britain’, ‘School’, ‘Character’’, ‘Holidays’, ‘Proverbs’, развивать положительные качества личности и коммуникативность, прививать положительное отношение к изучению английского языка.

Оборудование: ноутбук, телевизор, презентация, стенгазеты, реквизиты для ролевых игр.

T:  Good afternoon children and our guests! I’m very glad to see you here. Now we’ll organize our competition called “Brush up your English” Today all of you have a good time to improve your English during the game. Our competent jury is invited to count the points. The members of our jury are…

Three teams will take part in the competition. I wish you success. Be active, honest and disciplined. It’s time to introduce yourselves.

  The captain: our motto is: Faster, Higher, Stronger. Citius, Altius, Fortius! (in chorus)

T: Our Teams were given the hometask to prepare and act out some scenes. So, the team “Winners” is given the floor. They will show the roleplay “At the Doctor”.

Daughter:    Mum, I’m not well today.

   Mother:    What is the matter with you, dear?

Daughter:     I feel more dead than alive.

   Mother:     Let’s call a doctor!

-                 Good morning, doctor! My daughter is very ill!            

             Doctor:      What are the problems?

             Mother:      She has a high temperature and a splitting headache.

             Doctor:      I’ll visit you soon.

-                 Let me examine you. Open your mouth!

            Nurse:     Wider! Wider! Take the temperature. Oh, it’s very high. 38                 degrees.

            Doctor; Are you coughing?

            The patient: Yes, I am.

             Nurse:      Do, please!

             (The girl is coughing)

            Doctor; Not well!

             Mother: What is her diagnosis?

             Doctor:  She has caught a bad cold.

             Mother: What are your recommendations?

             Doctor:  She must stay in bed for 3 days, take pills and drink a lot of hot tea with lemon and honey.

             A girl: Doctor, is it dangerous for my life?

             Doctor: It’s a serious disease. I’m going to give you a course of antibiotics.

              A patient: They are not tasty. Is that all?

              Doctor: No, keep to a diet of salads, fruit and hot tea with lemon and honey.

              A girl; Thank you doctor for the nice diet. I like salads and fruit!

              Nurse: Don’t forget about pills! Follow doctor’s instructions to avoid complications.

               Mother: Thank you, doctor. I’ll take care of her! Good bye!

               Doctor: Good bye! Be healthy!

T:   The team “Friendly Teenagers” is ready to show their scene “Meeting Friends” You are welcome!

            A boy: Hi! How are you getting on?

            A girl: I’m fine, thank you. How are you?

                   B: I’m fine, thanks. These flowers are for you.

                   G: Oh, they are beautiful. Thank you very much. Let’s go.

-         Hello! Is that you, Mary?

M: Yes, it’s me. Oh, Darina, Nikita! Hi! (embraces them)

      Wait a minute! (her phone rings). Oh, no! Be healthy, Julia.!

       My friend Julia is ill. I can’t go to the party without her. Will you go with me? Here’s the invitation.

D: It’s a good idea. What do you think, Nikita?

The team “The Future of Donbass” is eager to show their scene “The New Year’s Eve’    

           Presenter: Everybody is busy today, because The New Year’s Day is coming!

                   Son: Mum, what are you doing?

            Mother: I’m making f special dish.

                 Son:   What is this?

            Mother:   Young baby’s eels.

                  Son:   Oh, I like it. They are delicious! And where is dad?

            Mother:    He’s doing the last-minute shopping. I’m sure.

                  Son:   Will he buy a new phone for me?

            Mother:    It depends on your marks at school.

                  Son:   Oh, no! Granny, what are you doing?

             Granny:   I’m baking some tasty cookies and making tea.

                   Son:  They are so nice. Pete! What are you doing?

                  Pete:   I’m decorating the New Year Tree. Will you help me?

                   Son:   Sure. I’d love to.

           Presenter:   Here’s the bell. Father is coming into the room with presents from Father Frost.

               Father:     New Year is coming! Don’t forget about your wish for the New Year.

        We wish all of you: (in turn) Good Health! Happiness! Success! Peace in our Homes!
