Aims: To enrich pupils’ knowledge about Mass Media, television
Equipment and visual aids: computers, overhead projector, the PowerPoint presentation, the board.
Methods: “Word bingo”, “What do you know?”, ”Answer questions ”, “TV show”
Organization Stage. Greeting. Declaration of the objectives of the lesson.
–How do you spend your spring holidays? What did you do? Where did you go?
– Today we’ll have a new lesson. We’ll touch on the theme “Television in our life”. There is nothing about this theme in our textbooks, but you know some facts about it from your life
Listening. Answer the questions
Divide into 2 groups
“The best TV”
The lesson begins with the presentations about television
Checking and correcting where necessary. Discussing topic about television.
Writing word dictation
(channel, TV show,programmas,news …e.t.c)
“What do you know?” Groups making diagrammas about advantage and disadvantage of television
– And now ask each other questions about our TV programmas
-What kind of TV programmas do you prefer watch?
-How much time do you spend watching TV in a day ?
– And now let’s speak about your favourite TV programmas
Each group making presentations and giving own opinions about television
Filling in blanks
Videos about new Kazakh programmas, discussing about their use to us
II. Reading and finding information.
– Listen to this questions and answers attentively
“True or false”
b) Active vocabulary is on the overhead projector.
– And now listen to the text, read it and be ready to do some tasks.
Reading the words in chorus.
Listening, repeating, translating the words.
Listening, reading after the announcer.
“TV show” each groups prepare a short programme on interesting theme, it may be interview with famous person or news…
V. Working with the text.
– Complete the sentences.
– Give the beginning of the sentences.
– Answer the questions.
Grammar. Active voice
Doing the task in pairs.
Doing the task in pairs (they exchanged their partners).
Answering the questions (frontal work).
Questions are given on the sheets of paper.
VI. Doing test.
– And now I’d like to check your knowledge of the grammar Do the test (it is on the screens of the computers).
Giving hometask. Write an essay about your attitude to television and your favourite TV programmas
Doing the test. Self- checking, giving marks.
Pupils give their opinions about today’s lesson ,at first on 5 sentences, then 5 words, at last with one word
