Открытый урок английского языка по теме "Праздники в
Великобритании и России". 6-й класс
Цель
урока:
1. Развитие навыков языковой догадки, языковой
реакции, памяти.
2. Формирование уважительного отношения к языку,
умения активно и плодотворно работать в коллективе.
Задачи
урока.
1. Систематизировать
и закрепить знания учащихся по теме “Праздники в Великобритании и России”.
2. Закрепление
лексических и грамматических навыков.
3. Развить
навыки устной речи; Понимать общее содержание и детали.
4. Использовать
в речи изученный материал по заданной теме.

Ход урока
1. Организационный момент:
Teacher: “Good morning, dear children! Nice to see you
today! “
Pupils: “Good morning,

today? What day of the week is it?”
P.:”Today is…”
T.:” We have a lot to do today. First, you are
going to revise lexical and grammar structures. Then we shall speak with you
about the most famous holidays of Great Britain and compare them with Russian
ones. I hope that it will be interesting for you.

world. What about you? What holidays do you prefer to celebrate and how do you

What holidays or festivals do you know in
Britain / in Russia?
There are many holidays in
Britain and in Russia. They are: New Year, Christmas, Valentine’s Day, Mother’s
Day, Victory Day, Women’s Day, Pancake Day, Harvest Day and Maslenitsa.

What is the most favourite holiday in your
family?
My favourite holiday is the New
Year’s Day. We have a party with my friends and my family. We watch a special
countdown clock on TV. When it is midnight, it’s the New Year! Lots of places
have a fireworks display at midnight. We sing songs to celebrate the New Year.
We usually wish ‘Happy New Year!’ to one another.

Do you make New Year’s resolutions? What are
your New Year's resolutions?
Usually I make New Year’s
resolutions.
'I'm going to do my homework
the same day that I get it.'
'I'm going to eat more fruit each week.'

What religious holidays do you know?
I know two religious holidays.
They are Christmas and Easter.

What do you know about Maslenitsa and Pancake
Day?
Pancake Day is the last day
before the period which Christians call Lent in February or March. It is
traditional on this day to eat pancakes. Maslenitsa is the brightest, funniest
and most entertaining of Russians holidays. The symbol of Maslenitsa is a round
pancake with the traditional fillings. People burn a straw figure of Lady
Maslenitsa. It means the end of winter cold.

What are the most important national holidays
in Russia?
The most important national
holidays in Russia are the Victory Day, the Women’s Day and New Year.

What do Russian people celebrate on the 9th of
May?
Russian people celebrate the
Victory Day on the 9th of May. Victory Day is a holiday that
commemorates the victory of the Soviet Union over Nazi Germany in the Great Patriotic War.
8.
Name the date when English people celebrate
Halloween.
9.
Halloween is celebrated on October 31. It is
also known as All Saints' Day.
