  Moscow
  Moscow is the capital of Russia, its administrative, economic, political and educational centre. It’s one of Russia’s major cities with the population of 9 mln people.The city was founded by Prince Yuri Dolgoruky in 1147.Moscow is known for its beautiful old cathedrals, churches and monasteries. The Kremlin stands at the heart of the city which used to be a fortress and now a cluster of museums and theatres, government offices.

  The Kremlin is the heart of Moscow. It is the ancient centre of Moscow. Today it is a museum. It is situated on Borovitsky hill on the left bank of the Moskva River and considered one of the most beautiful architectural ensembles in the world. In 1156 the Kremlin was fortified with ramparts and in 1367 white stone towers and walls were erected. Brick buildings were added between 1485 and 1495. The Moscow Kremlin contains fine examples of Russian architecture of the 15 to 17th centuries

  The Remarkable Achievements of Russian Cast Ironwork
  Tsar Bell was made by the Russian cast master Ivan Motorin and his son Mikhail in 1735. This is the heaviest bell (222.6 tons) but it doesn’t ring.
  Tsar Cannon was made by the cast master Andrei Chokhov in Moscow in 1586. The cannon weighs 44 tons and it has never been fired

  It was built in 1491 and it is 71 metres high. The Kremlin charming is in the Spasskaya Tower. The clock was made in the 16th century.The clock strikes every hour, half the hour and the quarter of the hour.

  It is an art gallery in Moscow and one of the greatest museum in the world. It has a large collection of Russian art that was started by Pavel Tretyakov as a private collection in 1856.   The original cathedral was erected by the order of Emperor Alexander as a token of the Russian people’s gratitude to God for the deliverance of Russia from Napoleon’s invasion in 1812.In 1931 it was demolished. But in 1995, Moscow’s Mayor Yuri Luzhkov and the world-famous musician Mstislav Rostrapovich laid the first stone in the foundation of the new Cathedral of Christ the Saviour.
