  Omsk is an old Siberian city which is situated on the banks of the Irtysh and Om rivers. It is a big industrial and cultural centre of the Omsk Region. It’s the second biggest city in Siberia.
  It was founded in 1716 by a group of Russian soldiers and Cossacks who were sent by Peter the I to Siberia in search of gold but failed to find it.
