Ask How many pupils are there in
the classroom? As a whole class, count the pupils. Ask all the pupils to
stand up. One by one they sit down as they are counted.

Choose ten subjects and fill in
the timetable.

Presentation
|
Say Open your books at page 48,
please. Read out the title of the page (Dastan’s world). Remind pupils that
Dastan appears in their Pupil’s
Book to talk about people or things in his world, and that his world is not
very
different from the pupil’s world.
Ask pupils to guess what Dastan is talking about in this lesson (his school
and his classroom and the lessons he likes).

Practice
|
• Ask pupils to look at the
picture and tell you what they can see. Encourage them to use the colours as
well as the names of the objects.
• Read Dastan’s speech bubble
aloud.
Then ask some questions about the
text: Does Dastan like his
school? (yes) What is Dastan’s favourite day? (Thursday) What lesson does
Dastan have on Thursday? (PE).
• Read the speech bubble again.
• Read the first paragraph about
Dastan’s school aloud. Then ask some questions about the text: Is Dastan’s
school big or small? (small) Is there a music room? (yes) Where does Dastan
have PE? (in the gym)
• Read the second paragraph about
Dastan’s classroom aloud. Then ask
some questions about the text: How
many chairs are there in Dastan’s classroom? (30) Where are the books?(in the
bookcase) Is PE Dastan’s favourite lesson? (no)
• Call out classroom objects from
the picture, in a random order (scissors, pink pencil, red paint, pink
paper).

For homework, ask pupils to fill
