Brian Jones was second guitarist and multi-instrumentalist
he is more famous than any of the Rolling Stones
he also began to miss some performances because of his ill health and erratic behavior, personal and physical problems.
he (and, thus, the band) would be unable to tour the United States
he lost his glamorous girlfriend, actress Anita Pallenberg
on June 8, it was announced that he had decided to leave for musical reasons

Brian Jones
Jones apparently had ambitions to form his own band
On July 3, he drowned in his own swimming pool.
On the night of his death, Jones had been drinking wine and taking downers.
Some suggested that he might have taken his own life, but those closest to him said he had no reason to commit suicide. Even though he had been officially ejected from the Stones several months earlier, Jones was planning new musical projects on his own.
The Rolling Stones, with Mick Taylor as Jones replacement, gave free concert in London’s
Hyde Park on July 5, 1969, staging it as a
tribute to Jones.

Rolling Stones
The band formed in 1962 when original leader Brian Jones and pianist Ian Stewart were joined by singer Mick Jagger and guitarist Keith Richards, whose songwriting partnership later contributed to their taking the leadership role in the group.
Bassist Bill Wyman and drummer Charlie Watts completed the early lineup.
Ian Stewart was removed from the official
lineup in 1963 but continued to work with
the band as road manager and keyboardist
until his death in 1985.
