Внеклассное мероприятие в 8-11 классах
Задачи:
1.Расширить по сравнению с базовым уровнем знания учащихся о традициях
и обычаях, существующих в англоязычных странах;
2.Активизировать учебные умения и навыки школьников;
3.Стимулировать познавательный уровень учащихся;
4.Формировать у детей положительный отношение к предмету, к странам
изучаемого языка, к живущим там людям, их культуре , обычаям и традициям.
Оборудование: выставка открыток-“валентинок”, задания оформлены в
виде “ валентинок”, картинки, плакаты.
Ход урока
Teacher:
Today we celebrate one of the best holidays, which young and old people love.
It is St.Valentine’s Day. Today’s meeting is the meeting devoted to the
tradition of English-speaking countries. I think that our party today will go
under the motto expressed in a very old Chinese proverb:
If there is rightness in the soul
There will be beauty in the person.
If there is beauty in the person
There will be harmony in the home.
If there is harmony in the home
There will be order in the nation.
If there is order in the nation
There will be peace in the world
St.
Valentine’s day is a religious holiday which is celebrate in Great
Britain , in many European countries and in the USA. St.Valentine’s Day has
roots in several legends.
Pupil
1: One of the early symbols of love is Cupid, the Roman God of Love, who is
represented by the image of a young boy with boy and arrow. Valentine was a
Christian priest in roman empire three hundred years after the death of Jesus
Christ. he had been thrown in prison for his teaching . On February 14,
Valentine was beheaded, not only because he performed a miracle –he cured the
jailer’s daughter from her blindness the night before he was executed –but he
wrote a letter to the girl , singing it “ From your Valentine”.

2: Another legend tells us that this same Valentine, well lover by all, wrote
notes from his jail to children and friends who missed him.

3: Another Valentine was an Italian bishop who lived at about the same time. he
was imprisoned because he secretly married couples, contrary to laws of the
Roman emperor. When the Roman Emperor Claudius II needed soldiers, he made a
law against marrying because he felt that marriage made men want to stay at
home instead of fighting wars. but at that time there was a kindly pries named
Valentine. He couldn’t agree with the emperor decision. When he saw that young
couples were truly in love, he married them secretly.

Now we are greeting our teams: boys and girls from 8-10 forms. We have got two
teams, and we shall see which team knows more about the holiday. Here are some
