Theme: 4 Adventure in the sky. 4A. Let's find out.

Main idea:  Communicative

Objectives:      

Educational: to present and practice Present Simple questions. To learn about swallows and to provide the pupils with the opportunity to use the vocabulary related to the topic “Swallows”.

Developing:  to develop the children's writing, reading skills and spoken, listening fluency.

Bringing up: to teach children to feel the importance of language to exchange information.

Methods of teaching: WRCT

Types of the lesson: combined

Aids of the lesson: flash cards, CD and player, interactive board.

Connection with other subjects:

Literature: Primary colours 2 for Kazakhstan, Diana Hicks and Andrew Littlejohn. Oxford dictionaries.

The procedure of the lesson

I. Organization moment: T: Good afternoon children!

                                           P: Good afternoon teacher!

                                           T: How are you today?

                                           P: We are fine, thank you! And you?

                                           T: I am fine too, thank you. Sit down!

            T: -Who is on duty today?                 P: -

            T: - OK, what is the date today?         P: - the ___  of February.      

            T: Open your notebooks and write down the date.                                          (5')

 

Warm up: Parachute man. Here you see a parachute man and a shark. Also there is a hidden word.

This word consists of 8 letters. You should guess this word saying by one letter, if you can't guess I will cut by one rope.

II. Presentation

          Open your books on page 36. Today we are going to learn question form of Present Simple and work with the text. 

         Brainstorming: Do you remember that Su, Leo, Paula, and Jim had some more adventures in the jungle, in the mountains, and in the space. Now look at the pictures on your books and tell me please where is this adventure happening now? Do you remember these children? Who are they?  P:- In the sky etc.

Listening: ex 1 p 36.

T:-Right you are. Let's listen the story.

T: - What did you understand from this story?

What is on TV?/ What do the swallows do?/ What is Su's idea?

New words:

swallow- ['swɒləu]

cloud- [klɑud]

a storm- [stɔ:m]

find out- [fɑind ɑut]

Reading: Look at the text again. Let's act out the story in groups.
