Theme: First conditional
Aim: consolidation of grammar
Objectives:
1) to practise first
conditional in statements and questions;
2) to develop pupils’ skills
in speaking and listening
3) to bring up the feeling of
love towards the foreign language
Methods: pair work, group work, game
Form: traditional
Visual aids: CD-ROM, pictures
The procedure of the lesson:
1. Organization moment.
Greeting. Declaration of the
objectives of the lesson.
2. Warm-up
Listen and sing.
Moving on, moving on
It’s time for us to be moving
on.
When the stars fade from the
sky,
We’ll be on our way,
And when the geese fly into
the sunrise,
We’ll be gone.
There are songs to sing,
There are tunes to hum,
It’s time for us to be moving

3. Reading ( Read and
match)
Children read the statements
and look at the pictures.
They then red the statements
again and write a letter next to each one.
4. Speaking (Ask and
answer)
Children read the examples,
look at the pictures and try to remember; then they close their books.
Begin to draw one of the
pictures on the board and ask Why do you need this in the desert? Children
answer.
Point to your picture
prompts; children ask and answer.
5. Speaking (Look
and say)
Children read the examples
and then ask and answer in pairs.
6. Using the first
conditional (Look at this!)
Focus attention on the
grammar gang in the book. Children look at how the first conditional is formed.
Children ask about the objects on the board and follow the maze to find the
answers.
7. Reading
Ask pairs of children to read
the story. One child reads a sentence and the second child names the pictures.
8. Speaking (Point, ask
and answer)
Children ask and answer,
following the examples.

9. Writing (Match and
write)
Children look at the mother,
and match the speech bubbles with the endings. They then complete the
sentences.
10. Complete the sentences
Using the weather symbol
prompts, children write sentences.
11. Look and finish the
sentences
Children look at the pictures
and the ticks and crosses. They then read and complete the sentences.

12. Write (If you mix
these colours…)
Children look at the colours
then write sentences about what they will get if they mix those colours.
13. Writing (Do the sums
and write sentences)
Children do the sums and
write sentences.
14. Home task: Ex.3 p.59 (Draw and write)
Each child draws a picture of
what will happen if s/he is late for school and writes a sentence.
15. Conclusion.
