Goal-setting
(Introducing
learning and lesson objectives)
|
Today we are
going to tell about such an exciting thing as relaxing. We have got two
point of views:
1. The rest must be
active, full of adventures, activities, moving.
2. Our holiday must
be passive, relaxing, with fewer movements.
Let’s listen to
the opinions of the two parties, Proposers and Opposers, who are going to
present their arguments, respectively, for and against the idea stated in the
Motion. So, please welcome our debates! (Applauds) Our jury -...

Time-Keeper:
|
Dear Ladies and Gentlemen, it’s a very
real pleasure that I welcome you here this afternoon. I feel sure we are
going to have a most interesting and pleasant meeting today.
First of all, let’s revise the
rules of the debates. Let’s read them:
*Work as a team and always
support each other.
*Listen to your opponents
carefully.
*Make notes while your opponents
are speaking to keep track of their ideas.
*Try to answer your opponents’
questions giving reasons for your opinion.
*Be polite and disciplined
during the debate.
*Never interrupt each other.
*Don’t speak longer than the
set time limit
Let me open the debate. The motion is
that “What is the best: an active or passive rest?” It is proposed by the
first team. So, the floor is given to ... Time: 5 minutes.

Proposers:

Sp3-3

Debate Procedure
Let me introduce myself and my
team. I am P1, the first speaker. The second speaker in our team is P2. And
the third speaker is P3.
Our team supports the idea… Our
first argument is…Our second argument is …
Advantages
of development:
1) During passive
rest, concentration of attention, any knowledge or skills are not required.
And this allows you to relax not only the body, but also the brain. Brain
workers simply need passive rest when they forget about work and just don’t
think about anything. Mental stress is the cause of stress, depression. It’s
useful and simple to switch from one type of activity to another: games help
in this. For example, in active rest you need to strain your brain all the
time. Overexertion is a large expenditure of energy; it is not very good if
you exert yourself on vacation.
2) Passive pastime
allows you to create masterpieces. Pictures, melodies are written when a
person is distracted, relaxed. And most importantly, to create a picture or
song does not need any extra activity. Power consumption is minimal.
3) "Lazy"
leisure helps to broaden one's horizons. The book is the main source of
knowledge. A trip to the cinema or theater is an occasion to show off
knowledge of a new plot or classic. Even watching scientific cognitive
programs or intellectual games on television will teach a person something. A
trip to the sea is a way to get to know other cities or even countries.

agree on the definitions given by our opponents and we’ll try to follow them
in general. But we have our own point of view.

«Holidays and Travel»
Форма
Класс
– 7
Дата
– 03.12.2019
