protection concerns everyone. The protection of nature means the protection of
our Motherland), плакаты, фортепьяно.
Ход урока
1.
Организационный момент.
T: Good afternoon, dear
friends. Today we are going to speak and discus the problem of environment
protection. But first let’s listen to the poem “Hug the earth” (рассказывают два
учащихся).
P.1: Walking along feeling
free
Feeling the earth here
with me
And I love her, she
loves me
I hug the earth, the
earth hugs me.
She is our friend,
We’d like to be together
forever.
P.2: The earth is a garden.
It’s a beautiful
place
For all living
creatures,
For all human race
Helping mother Earth
We can peacefully

We all deserve a

We can call our home.

T: I think that the words of
this poem impressed you greatly. The problem of environment is global. I want
you to tell about these problems.
Where does pollution come
from?
P.1: The problem of the
environment is very great today. The Earth is our home and we must take care of
it. We must fight against air pollution, water pollution. There is no an ocean,
sea or river which is not used as a dump. The poisons kills and animals.
P.2: Another great problem is
the problem of litter, or rubbish problem. Litter is garbage- like food, paper
and cans- on the ground or in the street. Where many people live together,
litter is a problem. People don’t always put their garbage in the garbage cans.
It’s easier to drop a paper than to find a garbage can for it. But litter is
ugly. It makes the city look dirty, and it spoils the view. The wind blow
papers far away. There are difficult to catch.
Litter is a health problem,
too. Food and garbage bring animals, which sometimes carry disease. Some people
want to control litter. They never throw litter themselves.
P.3: Many people today dump
their garbage into streams, rivers. Some examples of this garbage are cans,
paper, furniture and other household products. Aluminum cans can cut the
animals and fish.
P.4: Many factories have
pipes that drain chemicals into rivers and streams. They also add bad breath to
the air. Nuclear power stations can go wrong and cause nuclear pollution. This
happened in Britain, in the USA and Chernobyl. Nuclear pollution cannot be seen
but its effect can be terrible. In such places the birds and animals their
habitats and many plants die.
T: What must we stop? Why?
P.5: I think we must stop
polluting air now; if we don’t, there will be an ecological disaster.
P.6: To my mind we must stop
polluting water; if we don’t; there will be dead lakes, seas, oceans.
P.7: If we don’t change our
attitude there will be an ecological crisis.
P.8: In my opinion if we don’t
stop polluting land territories, there will be deserts.
T: You are quite right,
children.
3. Role- playing (the
mayor of our city and the journalists from different newspapers and magazines).
T: As I know, children there
are many ecological problems in our region and our town. That’s why I have
invited the mayor of our town. I think he will answer your questions.
- The mayor: Nice to meet
you. Let me introduce myself I am... I think I can answer all your questions.
Please.
-J1: I’m the journalist of the
newspaper “Avangard”. Have you known anything about the ecological problems of
your region?
M: Yes, certainly. The
problem of the environment is widely covered by our town newspaper “Avangard”.
People’s home and the town must be kept ecologically clean. But unfortunately
we have got some problems as the problem of clean water and the problem of
waste.
J2: How do you solve the
problem of communal waste in your town?
M: Two years ago a new
landfill was built. We put litter bins every week.
J3: Has anything been done to
solve the problem of clean water?
M: Yes of course. We try to
solve this problem. It’s very nice that our waterholes are cleaned at last. I
think it’s very pleasant to sit there and enjoy clean water. Also a new
water-supply station is built. Now we are lying on a new water- pipe. We do all
our best to solve this problem.
J4: What can schoolchildren
do to protect the environment?
M: To my mind they can plant
more trees and flowers, don’t throw litter and they can broom our streets at
last.
J5: How to keep your town
clean and green?
M: I have just come back
from Singapore. I saw a poster there.”Singapore is the Garden City of Asia-keep it clean and green!” There are strict laws. Dropping litter in public places is
forbidden. You can be fined up to 500 dollars. I think that we needn’t strive
for cleanliness streets .We should take a broom and sweep our streets.
