RUSSIAN FEDERATION STATE SYSTEM.

        Our country, which is called the Russian Federation, is a Presidential Republic. The President is elected for 4 years and he is the head of the State. The Government is headed by the Prime Minister who forms his Cabinet.

The State symbol of Russia is a two-coloured flag with three horizontal stripes: white, grey and red. The white stripe symbolizes the earth, the blue one- the sky and the red one-liberty.

A new National Emblem is three-headed eagle which is the oldest symbol of Russia. The hymn of Russia is the Patriotic Song by Alexandrov.

CITY TRANSPORT in MOSCOW.

The underground is the fastest and most comfortable type of the city transport in Moscow. The other kinds of transport in our capital are buses, trolley- buses, trams, taxes. Some buses, trolley- buses, and trams have conductors and some have cash- boxes (кассовый аппарат). Many people have passes (проездной билет).

Moscow is also a great transport centre. Trains and planes come to the capital every day from all parts of Russia and from other countries. Our capital is a port of five seas.
