  We suppose, that our “How to be British?” collection will help overseas visitors to communicate with native people while studying in GB and to behave like a true Brit, living in Russia.

  Nowadays a great number of Russian school-leavers prefer to get their higher education in Great Britain. But, being unaware of their traditions and customs, they adapt themselves to their social surroundings with some difficulties.

  The problem is vital,
  because according to our questionnaire 50% of pupils of our class would like to study in GB, 35% are indecisive in their answers, and only 15% refused to study in GB.

  Conclusions
  Having researched the problem under consideration we’ve come to know that:
  1.this collection is vital to avoid difficulties in communication with native people;
  2.to be British you should :
  a) learn to be polite;
  b) learn that pets are an important part of family life;
  c) understand that good education gives way to your prosperity;
  d) learn to represent the country to the very best of your ability not because of some financial bonus, but because of dedication to your country.
  Having behaved like true Brits in Russia we’ve found out that:
  a) it’s possible to be polite in Russia and rather pleasant, it excuses faults, calms nerves so that we can all be jolly together and not get upset;
  b) concerning the attitude to pets, the Russians tend to keep pets as objects of prestige. We’ve interrogated our pupils about the reason of keeping their pets and found out that 76% keep them, because they’re prestigious, 24% because they make our life happy without self-interest. As for us we look after our pets like true Brits, without any profit.
  c) as far as patriotism is concerned, according to the questionnaire we’ve found out that 65% are ready to represent our country only for financial rewards and only 35% without any financial bonus. You are welcome with your own conclusion,

  Practical significance
  Having read our brochure,
  30% - became upset because they can’t follow these recommendations;
  2% - couldn’t give the answer;
  and the majority -
  68% - were glad to find a truly British experience;
