Resurrection Long, long, long ago; Way before this winter’s snow First fell upon these weathered fields; I used to sit and watch and feel And dream of how the spring would be, When through the winter’s stormy sea She’d raise her green and growing head, Her warmth would resurrect the dead.

Easter comes in spring. It is the oldest and the most important Christian Festival. Easter occurs on the first Sunday after the first full moon.It is a religious holi- day. Many families go to the church. This holiday has some symbols: the Easter egg, the Easter Bunny, the Cross.
The Cross is the symbol of the Crucifixion, as opposed to the Resurrection. But the Cross of Jesus is the cross of life, not the cross of death. The Cross is not only the symbol of Easter, it` s the symbol of Christianity.
The custom of giving eggs at Easter celebrates new life. For Christians the egg is a symbol of Jesus`s resurrection. Eggs were always thought to be special because although they do not seem alive, they have life within them especially at spring time when chicks hatch out. Long ago people gave gifts of eggs carved from wood. Since that chocolate eggs have become popular and they are given on Easter Sunday.
Rabbit have been associated with spring since ancient times. The tradition of the easter bunny leaving a basket of treats such as easter eggs and chocolates on Easter Day is common in many European countries and in the USA, but the idea was born in Germany in 1700.
Easter Isn't Easy I heard a funny bunny say, "I just go nuts on Easter day. I hide about a zillion eggs And baskets tangle up my legs. "I'm tired, my eyes are full of tears And overflowing to my ears. If I'm to work more Easter Days At my age I should change my ways "I know I must do something rash So I'll start saving all my cash Then next year, with a little luck I'll deliver in my pick up truck.«

In many parts of England dancers called "Morris dancers" perform on Easter Sunday. These dances are very old spring dances to frighten away the veil spirits of winter. The dancers wear white shorts, red sashes, black trousers and straw hats with lots of flowers and streamers. Red and green ribbons and little bells are tied onto the dancers. As the dancers move quickly the bells ring and the ribbons wave.
