Westminster Abbey. The wonders of Westminster Abbey owe much to a succession of kings and queens beginning with Edward the Confessor a saintly man who came to the throne in 1040.
St. Paul’s Cathedral. St. Paul’s Cathedral is one of the greatest English churches.
Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament. The voice of London has been telling the time since1859. Among the world’s most famous buildings – the British Parliament: the House of Lords and the House of Commons sit here.
Buckingham Palace. This is the most important building, which is the official residence of Queen Elizaveth II.
Security Guard. Horse Guard.
The Tower of London. The Tower of London has Been “fortress, palace, home of the Crown Jewels and national treasures, arsenal, mint, prison, observatory, zoo and tourist attraction”.
The Tower Bridge. Tower bridge was opened in 1984, built in the Gothic style to blend in the nearby Tower of London.
The river Thames. There are 27 bridges over the River Thames.
Trafalgar Square Trafalgar Square is in the center of London. In the middle of the square stands a tall column. It is a monument to Admiral Nelson.
The National Gallery. The National Gallery is one of London's most important museums. It has an impressive collection of paintings covering the period between 1260 and 1900, with works from virtually all renowned artists of the era.
The British Museum. The British Museum in London is the world's largest museum of human history, culture and art. Its treasures include Egyptian mummies, objects from the Mesopotamian Kingdom of Ur, an Easter Island statue given to the museum by Queen Victoria, objects from the Sutton Hoo burial and the Elgin Marbles that once graced the Parthenon in Greece. Like all of the UK's national museums, the British Museum is free.
The Royal Opera House(Covent Garden) It is the home of The Royal Opera, The Royal Ballet and the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House. In 1734, the first ballet was presented. The Royal Opera House seats 2,268 people and consists of four tiers of boxes and balconies and the amphitheatre gallery.
London Eye. It’s height is 135 metres ( it is about 45 floors of a skyskraper.)
