Tourism is a widespread phenomenon in our time. Over
the years, various on the planet. But it was not until the 9th century that
tourism became a kind of specific form of human activity. Each of us has an
idea about tourism and has come across this industry since we spent our
holidays somewhere far from home, while traveling. Although tourism is a young
phenomenon, nevertheless, its roots go back to ancient times.
Many of us at
least once were tourists, but almost no one asked the question: how does this
affect society? We will try to answer this question.
Objective: to identify the
impact of international tourism on society and culture.
From the objective
the following tasks were set:
The
role, place and importance of tourism in the life of culture and society are
determined by its main functions:
1)
meeting the needs for self-actualization.
The
natural curiosity of a tourist in relation to various parts of the world and
the peoples inhabiting them form one of the most powerful tourist motives.
2)
knowledge of the new culture.
Tourism
is the best way to experience a different culture.
3) knowledge
of the new language
Humanitarian value is to use opportunities for personal
development.
4) broadening
your horizons.
The ambition of knowledge has always been an integral
feature of people. Combining recreation with the knowledge of the life, history
and culture of another people is one of the tasks that tourism is fully capable
of solving.
5) the formation of ideals and lifestyle.
Seeing the world with your own eyes, hearing, feeling are
important parts of the recreational function of tourism, they carry great
humanitarian potential. Familiarity with the culture and customs of another
country enriches the spiritual world of man.
We can't miss tourism as economic phenomenon. Tourism is one
of the leading sectors of the world economy. Its industry that creates new jobs
and acts as a mechanism for developing new areas (currently, every sixth new
workplace in the world is created by tourist organizations), it is a
"catalyst" for the redistribution of national income in favor of
countries based on tourism (if Finnish going on holiday to Germany, they not
only take out part of their earnings there, but also create new jobs there).
Tourism is also a means of protecting nature and protecting cultural heritage,
since it is these elements that form the basis of its resource base.
Tourism also develops in the economy such areas as transport,
communications, trade, etc. International tourism has become a source of income
and economic development for many countries. For example, Switzerland, Austria,
France, a significant proportion built on the income from tourism.
Tourism as a way of relaxation helps restore the power of
man. Speaking about tourism in general, it should be said that its main
function is to renew the forces and internal resources of a person, spent as in
the course of labor activity.
Based on this data, I decided to check whether my peers share
this idea with me. As a result of the survey, I received such data:

Most people study foreign languages and consider that tourism
has a positive effect on a person’s lifestyle. Also, all participants in the
survey admitted that they use the words in their speech. From this experiment
we can conclude about the impact of tourism on society and culture.
Now we will talk no more about the impact of tourism on
society, but about its consequences:
1) the union of cultures.
This process is very long, but effective. So, for example, in
Russia, after the "lifting of the iron curtain", culture has changed,
and, as a result, the behavior of people has changed. The same jeans with which
the government has long struggled to preserve the identity of the country's
culture.
It is also worth remembering about education. We recently
have it according to "European standards": the child receives basic
information at school, in kindergarten, and not from parents.
2) relocation of languages.
Probably every person in our country at least once said
"OK". Or remember the Russian empire from Peter the Great to the son
of Catherine II, Pavel Petrovich. Then she got the dawn of mixing languages:
Russian and French. So in our language the words "jury",
"bistro", "blinds" and others appeared.
These are the two main effects of tourism. A person, having
been in another country, wants to improve his country and his life. This
happened since ancient times, when the natives sailed on ships to a new land,
from where they took a lot of new and useful things. So the English had tea,
the Russians had potatoes, and Europe had furs.
Tourism is a phenomenon that penetrates all spheres of human
activity. This is the engine of progress. Tourist activity has always existed,
only in a different form (for example, travel is also a form of tourism, only
in a different form). Tourism not only helps to take a break from everyday
fuss, but also develops countries, culture, language, ecology, etc. This is the
most important aspect of human life in the 21st century.
