Sherlock Holmes Museum
The Sherlock Holmes Museum is a privately run museum in London, England, dedicated to the famous fictional detective Sherlock Holmes. It opened in 1990 and is situated in Baker Street, bearing the number 221b – the address of the fictional detective - although it actually lies between numbers 237 and 241.
The museum is run by the Sherlock Holmes International Society, a non-profit organization. Everything starts with the Baker Street metro station.
The Museum has four stories. The ground floor houses a gift shop. On the second floor is the living room and bedroom of Holmes. The third floor has rooms for Watson and Mrs Hudson, the landlady and the owner of the house. On the fourth floor there are wax figures of various characters from the stories. There is also a small loft, which houses the bathroom.
The living room
In the living room you can find many items connected with the characters of novels: Holmes felt hat and a pot of Dr. Watson, pipe, violin, magnifying glass, notebook, chemicals and equipment , Persian slippers (in which Holmes sometimes stored tobacco).
