The subject of study:

The goal of the research: to show beautiful attractions of
London, the capital of the UK
The objectives of the research: to learn how to describe
different things
The hypothesis of the research:
There are a lot of interesting places to see and visit in London.
London
is the capital of Great Britain.
It
is one of the largest cities in the world.
London
is situated on the river Thames.
The
city is very old and beautiful.
It
was founded more than two thousand years ago.
The
centre of London is Trafalgar Square.
In the middle of square stands a monument to Admiral Nelson.
The
large clock in one of the towers is Big Ben. The big clock on the tower of the
Palace of Westminster in London is often called Big Ben. But Big Ben is really
the bell of the clock. It is the biggest clock bell in Britain. It weighs 13.5
tons.
The
clock tower is 318 feet high. You have to go up 374 steps to reach the top. So
the clock looks small from the pavement below the tower.
But
its face is 23 feet wide. It would only just fit into some classrooms.
The
minute-hand is 14 feet long. Its weight is equal to that of two bags of coal.
The hour-hand is 9 feet long.
The
clock bell is called Big Ben after Sir Benjamin Hall. He had the job to see
that the bell was put up.
You
can hear the sound of Big Ben every hour in London.
Tower
Bridge is the oldest and famous bridge
across
the Thames. Tower Bridge is a combined bascule and suspension bridge in London
built in 1886–1894. The bridge crosses the River Thames close to the Tower of
London and has become an iconic symbol of London. Tower Bridge is one of five
London bridges now owned and maintained by the Bridge House Estates
The
Houses of Parliament is a place where the British Government sits.
The
Queen of England lives in Buckingham Palace.
It
is a wonderful building. Buckingham
Palace is the London residence and administrative headquarters of the reigning
monarch of the United Kingdom.[3][4] Located in the City of Westminster, the
palace is often at the centre of state occasions and royal hospitality. It has
been a focal point for the British people at times of national rejoicing and
mourning.
St.
James’s Park is the oldest park. St James's Park is a 23-hectare (57-acre) park
in the City of Westminster, central London. The park lies at the southernmost
tip of the St James's area, which was named after a leper hospital dedicated to
St James the Less. The park is the most easterly of a near-continuous chain of
parks that comprises (moving westward) Green Park, Hyde Park, and Kensington Gardens.
There
are many trees, grass, flowers and water.
Madame
Tussaud’s is a famous museum of wax figures.
They
have wax figures of all the famous people in the world. Madame Tussaud's wax
museum has now become a major tourist attraction in London. Today's wax figures
at Tussauds include historical and royal figures, film stars, sports stars, and
famous murderers. It is known as "Madame Tussauds" museums (no
apostrophe) and is owned by a leisure company called Merlin Entertainments,
following the acquisition of The Tussauds Group in May 2007.
Conclusion
If you visit London, you
will see and enjoy its attractions and countrysides, learn numerous traditions
and customs.
