Сценарий мюзикла “Dracula”

Раскаты грома:

In the mountains of Transylvania there stands a castle. It is a home of Count Dracula – a dark lonely place, and at night the wolves howl around the walls. Count Dracula is one of the Un-Dead – a vampire that drinks the blood of living people.

Появляется Дракула:

I’m Dracula – a mysterious character. I look like a gypsy under cloud. So beautiful, so threatening. A mysterious character: I look like a centaur out of the dark ages. Seeking  a treasure.A mysterious character. But who am I really: Fear or courage, Enemy or lover. Could it be this is the edge (грань) of time, where giants sleep, made of gold and dust.

(Делает несколько шагов вперед, обращаясь в зал)

My friends—Welcome to my own place. I am anxiously[‘ӕɧkʃǝslι] expecting you.

The blood is the life. And it shall be mine.

The only way to get rid of a temptation is to yield [ji:ld] (уступить)  to it. Resist it, and your soul grows sick with longing for the things it has forbidden to itself.

Сцена II
Диалог Мины и Дракулы:

Mina:
I step across the line for you
I plunge(погрузилась) myself in mortal sin
I sacrifice(пожертвовала) my soul to be your bride
I give into the feelings I can't hide
I leave my guilt(вина) behind
Who cares if love is blind
This certainty(уверенность) is bliss(блаженство)
At last I know my mind (намерение)

Dracula:
We'll live our lives and then
We'll live them once again
There's always a tomorrow
There's always one more night...
Mina:
I hear you before you speak;
I'm with you wherever you are.
Dracula:
When you sleep I'm in your dreams,
I can read your thoughts from afar

Dracula:
The first time I saw your face
I knew I would make you mine.

It began with a photograph.”

Mina: “A photograph? Of whom?”

Dracula: “Of you. Mr. Harker had brought it with him to Transylvania.”

I was determined to find you at any cost.”

Mina: “You came to Whitby…because of me?”

Dracula: “For no other reason.”

Dracula: “Mina: for centuries, I have been alone. I have nearly perished from loneliness,

and yet I could not die. I have longed to meet a woman I could truly love: a kindred

spirit who shared my dreams, my interests, my passions. When I saw your

photograph and read your letters, I had an uncanny premonition that you were

destined for me; and once we met, I knew it with a certainty.”

Mina: I had trusted Dracula. I loved him! But what manner of being was it that I loved?

Was he nothing but a murderer and a liar, hiding his true aims behind a handsome

face? No; no! I could not believe that. And yet…he had deliberately, knowingly,

without my consent, persuaded me to commit an act which would turn me into an

Un-Dead being like himself. How could he do such a thing?

Дракула подходит к Мине и накрывает ее плащом. Летучие мыши кружат под музыку Война Бога и Сатаны вокруг них. Мина отталкивает Дракулу.

Mina:  “I believed you to be a man of character, yet you are no man at all. You

are a…a Thing. An Un-Dead Thing.Unholy.Unreal. I know I have been blind and

gullible up until now, but please do not further insult my intelligence by saying she

‘called to you.’

Сцена III

Мина садится и закрывает лицо руками. Звучит музыка Танец смерти.

Выходят Ван Хельсинг и его помощник, держат кресты, Дракула исчезает.

ВанХельсинг:

The nosferatu do not die like the bee when he sting once. He is only stronger, and being stronger, have yet more power to work evil. This vampire which is amongst us is of himself so strong in person as twenty men, he is of cunning more than mortal, for his cunning be the growth of ages, he have still the aids of necromancy, which is, as his etymology imply, the divination by the dead, and all the dead that he can come night to are for him at command, he is brute, and more than brute, he is devil in callous, and the heart of him is not, he can, within his range, direct the elements, the storm, the fog, the thunder, he can command all the meaner things, the rat, and the owl, and the bat, the moth, and the fox, and the wolf, he can grow and become small, and he can at times vanish and come unknown.

Второй песонаж:

During the day they lie in their coffins, buried underground or in the murky coolness of the crypt. But when night comes, wake up and go hunting. In his human form — only more pale, more beautiful than real people — or in the guise [gaiz] of a black cat, wolf, rat, bat, or moth in a cloud of white steam, they easily glide over the ground or through the air... They peep in through open windows. They call a gentle voice that penetrates the soul. They are waiting for. They are hungry. They are always hungry! Andthey'rehungeringforlive, hotblood.

Dracula: Kill me, Mina

Mina:“I cannot.”

Dracula: “Do it!” “I do not belong to this world. You do. Feel no remorse. Live the life that I was never allowed  to have. Live it for the both of us!”

Mina: My God! My God! What have I done? He was dying, and I had killed him!

I will always love him. I will never forget him. He changed me forever, and I will be forever grateful because he let me go. My life is now my own, and I know that it is better this way.
