Theme: About Kazakhstan

Aim: to assist in developing language abilities of the lesson

Objectives: - to give more information about animals, to master new words, practice its use in the speech, to develop pupils' skills in listening, in reading and of prepared and unprepared speech, to teach pupils' skills to express their opinion, to be attentive and foster their love for animals.

Visual aids: cards, coins, papers, presentation, pictures.


Warm – up activity.

Where are you from? Yes, you are right. Kazakhstan is our Motherland. Who can translate a word Motherland?

Presentation. Today at the lesson, we will trip to our Motherland Kazakhstan, do different tasks and play games. I wish you good luck and I hope that this lesson will be you interesting and productive. Now it is the turn to get introduced with our just juries they are: We have 3 teams. Our lesson consists from 7 tasks. Ok let’s start our lesson.

The 1st task. “Translate the words”. I’ll say you some words in Kazakh your task is say me in English. Are you ready? Each right answer 5 point.

That is all. The 2nd task is «Geographical position”. Each team is given a separate region of Kazakhstan; pupils should collect a map of our country. The winner is the team that performed the task faster opponents. She gets 5 points.                   

The 3rd task is "Make a word". This task reveals the English spelling. Each team give a set of cards with scrawled on them in English letters. Team lead team members, holding cards with the letters will line up in a row so that the audience and the jury could read the word. For each correctly word the team gets 5 point. The leader names the following words: Kazakhstan, Capital, Motherland, President, Astana, Dombyra.

Continue the game. The 4th task is "The best reader". Teams is gave, the text of Kazakhstan. Commanders of each unit must be able to correctly read the text in English and retell in their native language. Jury your task is to mark one reader who read the text better and clearly. 5 points

We live in Kazakhstan. Our Republic is very big. It is situated in the Central Asia. Kazakhstan has its flag and national emblem. The capital of our country is Astana. It stands on the Ishim river. The city is very beautiful. Besides Astana, there are many big cities in our Republic. They are Almaty, Chimkent, Aktau, Semei, Atyrau and others. The most ancient city is Taraz. It is more than 2000 years old. Taraz is situated in the south of Kazakhstan. Our country is famous for its people who live in piece and friendship. There are many nations in Kazakhstan. The official language is Kazakh. The president of our Republic is Nursultan Nazarbaev. We are proud of our country.

The 5th task is “Poliglot”. So our next level is “Polyglot”. Your task is to finish the proverbs or riddles and translate the hidden word into Kazakh, English, Russian. You will get 10  points for your each right answer.
