Цель проекта: развитие коммуникативной компетенции обучающихся в рамках
темы «Science and Technology».
Задачи
проекта.
Образовательные:
ü активизировать
лексический материал по теме;
ü
познакомить учащихся с
известными учеными и открытиями, изменившими мир.
Развивающие:
ü развивать
память и мыслительную деятельность учащихся, развитие способности к языковой
догадке в целях расширения их потенциального лексического запаса
ü развивать
умение выделять необходимую информацию из прочитанного текста.
ü развивать
механизм языковой догадки и умение переноса знаний и навыков в новую ситуацию.
Воспитательные:
ü формировать
нравственный, позитивный режим общения при обмене мнениями, повышение мотивации
к изучению английского языка;
ü воспитывать
навыки культурного общения (умение слушать и слышать собеседника,
эмоциональность, способность достичь согласия).
После
завершения проекта обучающиеся смогут:
ü использовать
программные средства обработки изображений, создания презентаций, публикаций
для представления результатов поисковой и исследовательской деятельности;

свое мнение по проблеме;
ü аргументировать
свою точку зрения;
ü составлять
планы письменных и устных сообщений;

Introduction
We live in the fascinating world of science. It is a world
that has come to affect so much of our lives. It is involved with the way we
travel, the homes we live in and the clothes we wear, how we become ill and how
medicine can make us better, and has given us fantastic means of communicating
and exploring.
The list of the inventions is
rather long. We cannot imagine our life without modern devices. There are a lot
of inventions in our world. Do you know the most useful discovery? How can
inventions affect our life style? How can we affect the world we live in? Are
you ready to answer these questions? Take part in this web quest. Be ready to
do all the tasks and get an excellent chance to plunge into the atmosphere of
the world of science and technology.
Tasks
Let’s plunge
into the atmosphere of science. The name of our topic is called “World famous
inventions". We offer to talk about great scientists, inventors and famous
inventions of all times.
We hope our journey in the world of science will be unforgettable and
useful.

For the
lesson the class will be divided into 2 groups. Each group will get one aspect
of the theme. Your task will include the following:
Step 1. Pre-class preparation
- study web-based materials using the links suggested;
- do additional search for useful information on the
target issue;
- answer the questions;
- divided the material between all team members for
presentation in class for the members of other groups;
- prepare your projects .
Step 2. In-class activity
-report to the whole class what you have learned on
the topic for your group activity;
Each group will need to study only one topic and
inform the class about the major features of the theme.
You will be working in teams. It will be up to you to divide
roles in each team. For efficiency, there should be a team leader, who will
organize the work and divide the issues within each topic to make sure
everything is covered and there is no overlap. All team members are responsible
for presenting information in class.
