Objectives : to talk about the history and geography of  Great Britain;

            to use the vocabulary of the topic;

            to practise listening skills;

            to practise speaking skills;

It’s Guy Fawkes Night, also known as Guy Fawkes Day, Bonfire Night and Firework Night. It’s an annual traditional celebration. It’s not the state holiday. It’s celebrated on the night of November 5.

On that day группа католиков-заговорщиков попыталась взорвать Парламент Великобритании в Лондоне в ночь на 5 ноября 1605 года, во время тронной речи протестантского короля Якова I.

Гай Фокс пытался спрятать в подвале Вестминстерского дворца бочки с порохом. Один из соучастников предупредил королевского лорда  о намечавшемся взрыве и сказал, чтобы тот не приходил в здание дворца. Лорд решил спасти не только свою жизнь, но и королевские жизни. Он предупредил короля, и на следующий день Гай был арестован и отвезен в Тауэр.

В Великобритании в ночь Гая Фокса зажигают фейерверки и костры, на которых сжигают чучело Гая Фокса.

Only 21% of the entire Welsh population of Wales can speak the native language. People from other parts of the United Kingdom can’t understand people speak Welsh. The letters K, Q,

 V and Z do not appear in the Welsh alphabet at all.

   Welsh is the first language in many schools in Wales and is taught in most.
