The plan of the lesson

The theme: Keep warm

The objectives of the lesson:

Educational aims:

1.      to teach pupils to know the health problems.

2.      to teach them to find the words and expressions in any situation.

3.      to enrich their lexics by new words on the given theme.

Developing aims:

1.      to develop pupils’ abilities in speaking through pair work.

2.      to develop their creative abilities through different kinds of activities.

3.      to develop their speech speaking about health.

Bringing – up aims:

1.      to bring them up the importance of being healthy.

2.      to teach them that “Health is above wealth”.

Methods: individual work, group work, pair work, question-answer.

Visual aids: the interactive board, slides, a diagram.

The procedure of the lesson

I.       Organization moment.

·         Good afternoon, pupils!

·         Good afternoon, teacher!

·         Who is on duty today?

·         I’m on duty today.

·         Who is absent today?

·         All are present.

·         What is the date today?

·         The 31st of January

Well, today we have an unusual lesson. I divided the class into 2 groups. These cards I’ll give you for marks; a happy boy is “5”, a tired boy is “4”, and ill boy is “3”. Pupils, you should try not to be an ill boy.

Dear teachers! You are welcome to the 6 “Ә” form.

II.    Checking up the home work.

First of all I’ll check your home work.

-         What was your home work?

-         Make up dialogue.

 

III.Warm up.

Children, look at this picture.

What do you see in this picture?

-         Two friends. – What season is it? It’s winter.

-         How do you think who will catch a cold first?

-         The girl who puts light clothes on. – Why do you think so? I think so because she doesn’t keep warm. The weather is snowy and cold, the temperature is below Zero.

 

IV. Presentation of the new material.

Well, our theme is Keep warm. At this lesson we are going to speak about problems and their treatment.

-         Pupils, what season is it now. – It’s winter now. Good, we know that people have some problems in winter.

Write what children should do or shouldn’t do to be healthy in winter.

Keep warm, eat ice cream, dress warm clothes, drink warm milk, drink cold water, dress light clothes, eat vitamins.

Tuesday 14th

I feel better today. Yesterday was terrible. I felt fine all morning, but in the afternoon I began to feel really ill. I was hot, then cold. I had a headache. I felt tired and I felt sick. I finally decided to go home. I arrived home at two o’clock and went straight to bed. I took 2 aspirins and had a hot drink. I slept until this morning – 18 hours in all. May be it was flu. Today I feel better, but I’m staying in bed. I’m enjoying the rest and this book’s very good.

VI.  Game. Gather fruits and vegetables into the basket.

I need two gardeners. Who wants to be a gardener? And other pupils I’ll give you sheets of paper with the names of fruits and vegetables. Two gardeners call the names of fruits and vegetables one by one, and whose fruits and vegetables will be called,  go to the gardener who calls your fruits and vegetables name and put your fruits and vegetables into the gardener’s basket. Who gather many fruits and vegetables win the game.
