My family's favorite food is pancakes.
The history of pancakes The history of pancakes has many versions and is still a matter of dispute among historians. One option for the occurrence of yeast pancakes appeared in Russia in 1005-1006. Our ancestor was distracted, warming up the oatmeal jelly, which was fried, browned. So baked the first pancake. Blini from the XIX century became the main treat during the Maslenitsa week. The very shape of the pancakes clearly indicates their symbolic connection with the Sun. Pancakes are considered one of the most favorite Russian dishes. Earlier in tsarist Russia pancakes were baked with the addition of millet, semolina or buckwheat porridge. Before the pancakes were baked in the Russian stove.

Russian cuisine is the traditional cuisine of the Russian people. Depending on the geographical location, its dishes and taste properties change. Russian cuisine is diverse, it includes elements of ancient Slavic cuisine, as well as dishes of the peoples of Russia. Food was mainly prepared in the oven, so very widely used cooking, stewing, languor, and frying initially-almost never met.

The history of pancakes lasts for centuries. It is assumed that this dish has been known since Antiquity, and possibly earlier. The Germans and the French preferred thin pancakes rolled into rolls with different fillings. The English began to add ale and malt flour to the pancake batter. Mexicans added to the world collection of tortillas recipe, which wrapped beans or meat filling with tomato sauce. In General, pancakes abroad consist of the same products as in Russia. The dough for most of them is mixed on wheat and buckwheat flour (by the way, the latter is typical for true Russian pancakes), milk, water or with the addition of ale (in old English recipes). In the US pancakes, small and plump, resemble, rather, pancakes, bake sometimes from corn flour. And in those European countries, where an important place in the diet is potatoes (Germany, Poland), pancakes are called potato pancakes.
