Организация учебной деятельности на уроке английского языка по технологии «Дебаты» в 10 классе

Тема «There must be only one friend»

Цель: обобщить и закрепить изученный материал

Задачи: совершенствовать умения вести дискуссию, учиться выражать своё мнение, аргументировать его, приводить доводы, критически осмыслить проблему, развивать коммуникативные умения и исследовательские навыки.

Оснащение урока: классная доска, проектор, видеоотрывок, таблички на партах, нагрудные значки, протоколы экспертов.

Ход урока

I.                    Введение.

Учитель: Good morning, students and guests. Let’s watch a piece of video. (Демонстрируется любой видеоотрывок с демонстрацией неблагоприятного поведения депутатов в парламенте любой страны). What can you say about this scene? How should people behave themselves in the Parliament? (Следуют варианты ответов). Today we will show you how to do that.

II.                 Основная часть.

Председатель: Good morning, dear participants and guests. Today we have a debate on the statement “There must be only one friend”. We have a chairman, a secretary, six speakers in two teams (“Yes” team and “No” team). We have experts and audience. I am a chairman. I will lead today’s debate. This is our secretary and he will watch the time. These are our experts and they will count the points and choose the best speaker for today. These are the audience and they will ask questions. Please, teams, introduce yourselves. (Представители команд выходят вперёд и представляются). Now let’s listen to Speaker number one from “Yes” team. (Представители каждой команды поочерёдно, сначала первые номера, затем вторые номера, затем третьи номера высказывают своё мнение.  Жюри проставляют баллы в протоколы.

Speaker 1	Dear chairman! We agree that friends should be reliable, responsible and loyal. But as a fact they should get together, talk about their problems and turn to each other for help or advice. When you get together you can have a good laugh together, stand by each other. Of course true friendship takes some time to grow. Some friendship does not last forever. Childhood friends are people that have similar interests with you. Having good friends is something that cheers you up, when you are in trouble. There are many proverbs about friendship: «The more the better». There is a Russian proverb as well «Не имей сто рублей, а имей сто друзей».	Dear chairman! Friendship is a great thing. Real friends are always ready to help you in difficult situations. They never let you down. They are friendly, loyal and helpful. You can’t live without friends. Only few people have no friends. Of course you may with whom you can share your problems and secrets. Nothing can replace a best friend. There is a proverb “Many friends are the thieves of time”. There is a Russian proverb: «Старый друг лучше новых двух», «Друзей много не бывает».
Speaker 2	Dear chairman! As for me I have a lot of friends. I can have great fun with them. When I am in trouble, they are always there to cheer me up. For example, let’s take Kolya. When I have problems at home, he is the only person who can help. I can talk all my problems to him. He is supportive and can keep secrets. It is important, isn’t? And Nastya? She is so brainy! I always turn to her, when I have problems with Maths. Sasha is great at working on the computer. He teaches me how to work too. Then, we have a lot of similar interests with Misha. We go to the sports club together. Each time together we have a good laugh, «A real friend should be not only one». For example, Winnie the Pooh and his friends.	Dear chairman! As for me, I have only one friend called Nadya. She lives next door and we spend a lot of time together. She is great at keeping secrets! Sometimes we argue about little things but there are a lot of other things that we like about each other. Like me, she likes music and reading but we are both not very good at sports. She is a person that I don’t need a break from. I can always rely on my friend. She cheers me up when I am upset. I feel that I can always turn to her if I have some problems. A lot of fiends take a lot of time. We are just two and we are happy. That is why I can say “A real friend should be only one”. We see it from different examples from books. For example, Crocodile Gena and Cheburashka.
Speaker 3	Dear chairman! «A real friend should be not only one». What if your real friend goes far away to another country or city? You will have only a pen-friend. And it is difficult not to have anybody by you. If one of your friends has no time to do with you, why can’t another one do the same? That is why I can read a poem: Friendship is a thing for two, Three or, even more. Like a song that is made to sing, Friendship is a doing thing.	Dear chairman! A real friend should be only one because we see it from different examples from life. First, it is very difficult to keep a secret if everybody knows this secret. It is not a secret any more. Second, if you go somewhere and your friend doesn’t want to go here!? Of course, you will go there with another friend. But if you stay at home, you will have bad mood. In this situation we may say “A friend to everyone  is a friend to nobody”. And at last, listen to the poem: How do you know If someone is a friend? For me it is a person Who stands by you till the end? A person that cares, A person the shares.

Председатель: Dear audience, you may ask each team questions. (Предполагаемые вопросы):

1. Do you have a friend? What is his name?

2. How many friends do you have?

3. What is friendship for you?

4. Do you have a friend? How long are you friends?

5. What common interests with your friend do you have?

6. What interesting moments of your friendship do you have?
