Is it a dream home? Well, it’s definitely expensive! Antilia is a house in South Mumbai, India and it’s currently the most expensive home in the world. It’s worth over a billion US dollars. Let’s take a look…

A. Antilia is on the 10th most expensive street in the world. It’s 174 metres tall and has got 27 floors. Each floor is completely different. It’s mre of a skyscraper than a house.

B. Antilia is the new home of businessman Mukesh Ambani, his wife and three children. Mukesh is the richest man in India. There are three helipads on the top of the building for Mr Ambani’s helicopters. There are also six floors that can fit 168 cars! 

C. Then there are the family’s floors. These are on the top four floors of the building. Each member of the family has got their own bedroom, living room and bathroom.

D. The home has got a health club, with swimming pools and yoga rooms. The family can exercise in the gym or dance in the dance studios. They can also relax in a hot spa bath.

E.  In the evening they can enjoy a film in the home cinema. Fifty people can watch a film in the cinema. There is also a ballroom where the family and guests can dinner and parties.

F.  Another special room in the home is the ice room. Here the Ambani family can cool off from the hot Indian weather. This amazing room can even make snow!

G. Finally, Antilia has got beautiful gardens on the outside of the building and green rooms with many different flowers and plants. From the top floors you can see the Mumbai city skyline and the Arabian Sea.

Imagine living in a house in the shape of a seashell. In Mexico City there is a house like that. The architect of the house is Javier Senosiain. The Nautilus House is the house of a young couple and their two children. The house has got two floors and spiral staircases. Inside there is a living room, a huge bedroom, a kitchen and a bathroom. There are plants in every room. The bathroom is blue and yellow with small windows everywhere. It’s very bright. The White House is one of the most famous symbols of America. It is the home of the President and his family. It has got a long history stretching back over two centuries to the year 1800. It is like a museum with beautiful furniture and expensive artwork and it is open to the public.

The impressive building is very large. It has got six floors, 132 rooms, 35 bathrooms, 3 lifts and 8 staircases. A number of the rooms are offices including the world famous Oval Office. There is also a huge kitchen and the 5 chefs there can make dinner for up to 140 people at a time.

A. In the center of town, there is a chocolate market with 700 stalls. Chocolate makers from around the world come to sell different types of chocolate. From chocolate covered bananas to chocolate pasta, there’s something for everyone! You can even buy chocolate for dogs!

B. There’s a lot of chocolate to taste at the festival. Visitors can eat some of the best and most famous chocolate in the world, completely free. It’s a chocolate lovers’ dream.

C. At the beginning of the festival artists make huge chocolate sculptures. Some of them are one metre tall. At the end of the festival everybody eats these delicious sculptures.

D. There are chocolate cooking classes. They are very popular. At the class you can learn how to make lots of delicious food using chocolate.

E.  You can also see how a chocolate factory works. In Perugia there is a very famous chocolate factory. Visitors can see how cocoa beans become chocolate bars.

F.  There’s more to Eurochocolate than food, though! All week there are lots of theatre and dance performances. Musicians and DJs also play music in the streets and lots of people dance. The whole town becomes a big party!

“Police, Camera, Action!” is a popular TV series of real-life police videos. It is part-documentary and part-reality show. They just missed him. He’s going along the bike lane toward the tunnel. Now he’s going into the tunnel. The offices on the ground are speeding over the level crossing to cut him off (перехватить его) at the end of the tunnel. This is so exciting! Yes! It’s all over. They got him!

A.   Gung Hay Fat Choy! This is the Chinese greeting for the New Year. The Chinese also call this holiday the Spring Festival. Chinese people all over the world welcome the New Year sometime between winter and spring. The Spring Festival lasts for several weeks and celebrates the earth waking up after the cold winter.

B.    Before the New Year families clean their houses and decorate the doors with texts on red paper. These decorations keep out bad luck. Girls and boys get their hair cut and buy new clothes.

C. On New Year’s Eve families have big traditional meals. In Southern China they usually eat sweet rice, pudding and honey. They stay up until midnight to watch firework displays. It was 24th July, 1911. Hiram Bingham, an American archeologist, was in the Andes Mountains in Peru. Suddenly he saw walls of stone in front of him. He couldn’t believe it! Was this the lost city of Machu Picchu?

Is this the most talented person who ever lived?

Leonardo da Vinci was born in a small village in Tuscany, Italy on 15th April 1452. He was very intelligent and curious and learnt lots of things by himself. In his lifetime he achieved incredible things! So is this man the most talented person ever?

Da Vinci designed many working machines for war, industry and transport. He sketched very accurate maps and he also designed a brilliant canal system for Florence, and a huge bridge. In 2001 architects constructed a bridge in Norway based on da Vinci’s design. You can see it there today.

Da Vinci studied plants, animals and the human body and made detailed drawings and notes about them. He used “mirro” writing, probably because he didn’t want everyone to understand the notes! His sketch “Vitruvian Man” shows the perfect proportions of the human body. This is possibly the best-known drawing in the world.

As a young man da Vinci studied painting in Florence. Two of his paintings, the Mona Lisa and The Last Supper, are among the most famous paintings of all times! Today, only about 15 of his finished paintings survive (he often didn’t finish them because he was busy with other things), but most people consider him to be one of the greatest painters who ever lived.

Da Vinci’s notebooks contain detailed sketches for a whole range of inventions which were centuries ahead of their time. These include a sort of helicopter, flying machines, a calculator, a parachute and even robots. With today’s technology and materials many of da Vinci’s designs could work very well.

A. People know it for its many Broadway theatres, cinemas and bright signs, and they call it the “crossroads of the world”. People often say “You are what you eat” and we all know that to be healthy we need to eat healthy food. What is really healthy, though?

A.   All fruit juices contain high amounts of sugar. Some juices have only very low amounts of fruit in them – and as much sugar as a glass of cola or a chocolate bar.

C.    Food companies like using the words “fat-free” or “low-fat” on their labels. Unfortunately, they often replace the fat in these “healthier” products with salt and sugar to give them flavor. It’s a good idea to read the whole label.

D.   People think chocolate is bad for them, but it has some benefits. Good quality dark chocolate helps protect your heart by lowering your cholesterol. Eating chocolate also has a positive effect on how we feel. All chocolate is high in fat, though, so you shouldn’t eat it after every meal.

It has got eight cooking stations, TV plasma screens for demonstrations and can hold up to 40 students at a time. He also opened Huntington’s Kitchen in the town of Huntington which offers free cooking lessons to people of the community.

Jamie’s food revolution is becoming very popular. Many celebrities including Jennifer Aniston and Justin Bieber now support it. He hopes that his work will help reduce diseases like obesity and help people live longer healthier lives. Good job, Jamie!

Some traditions about Chinese New Year

A.   The Chinese think that as they meet a new year, they should put behind them the things of the past. They clean their houses, pay off debts (выплачивать долги), buy new clothes, paint their doors and window frames and even get new haircuts.

The London Underground and the Moscow Metro

The London Underground is the oldest one in the world. In 1870 there was the opening of the first line. It was like a tube (труба), that’s why English people call the old lines the Tube, the new lines the Underground.

The London Underground is very long. It’s about 300 kilometres long and it has about 300 stations. Some of them are closed on Sundays. The other stations are closed on Saturdays and Sundays. Most young people love films and they go to the cinema once or twice a month. We asked a few teenagers if they go to the cinema and what films they go to see.

 

Speaker A

I actually go to see quite a lot of films and I don’t really know if I can say that I have a favourite type. I’m not very picky and I think that I enjoy everything from

comedy to horror. I guess I just love going to the cinema.

 

Speaker B

Believe it or not, I rarely go to the cinema because I’m simply too tired in the evenings. The last time I went to the cinema was last summer. I went to see an old black and white film in an outdoor cinema and I fell asleep halfway through the film. I usually rent DVDs and watch them at home at the weekend, but even then I

rarely see a film all the way to the end.

 

Speaker C

I go to the cinema about three times a week, and sometimes more. I really enjoy going in the morning on Saturdays and Sundays and I mostly see adventure or

action films. My parents get upset, though, because all of my allowance goes to the cinema.

 

Speaker D

Films are a big part of my life. I couldn’t live without them. I see a different film every night, either at the cinema or at home. I love thrillers and horror films and I

have a collection of hundreds of DVDs. I really enjoy going to the cinema with friends. Last weekend we went twice. It was great.

 

Speaker E

I love watching films and I usually see about four or five a week but never at the cinema. I don’t know exactly why, but I can’t stand the cinema. I prefer to watch films at home. My parents bought me a great big screen, so I always invite my friends over. What’s more, it’s cheaper than going to the cinema.

Phil: Harry is doing that. He is moving the furniture and making decorations for the sitting room.

I’ve always dreamed of cycling across country and I was in great shape when I finally started my journey. At first, everything was running smoothly, but something really small turned into something big. I had a mild toothache that turned into an unbearable pain; I couldn’t even eat my sandwiches! In the end, I had to take the train back home to see my dentist.

 

Speaker B

 When my sister and I went to Hawaii last summer we decided to hike up Kilauea, the Big Island’s famous volcano. It was a long hike, but seeing the lava flowing was so amazing! Anyway, things took a bad turn when on the way back I stepped on a big rock and nearly fell over. I was in so much pain that we had to have a car drive us back to the hotel!

 

Speaker C

 The first time I went skiing I was so excited that I went out and bought myself a new white snow jacket. That was a huge mistake. The temperature was just below zero and my nose was feeling really dry. My doctor says this is always a warning sign. On the way down my first slope I felt a warm liquid start dripping down my nose. By the time I got down the hill, my new jacket was covered with blood!

 

Speaker D

 My friends and I decided to go camping in Italy during our Easter holidays. It was supposed to be four days in the great outdoors. Well, leave it to unlucky me to come down with the flu. I had such a high fever that when I woke up after falling asleep in the tent, my pyjamas were drenched in sweat!

 

Speaker E

 We were so excited to be in India and since we love Indian cuisine, we started trying all the dishes at the hotel buffet. It wasn’t the smartest thing to do. When we went on an elephant ride in the afternoon we were both so full that we couldn’t even enjoy it.

Peter: Marie Curie was the most famous woman scientist of her day. She was born in Poland in 1867. Both of her parents were teachers. Because her mother died when she was very young, Marie had to work from a very young age in order to help her family. When Marie was 24, she moved to Paris where she attended university at the Sorbonne. She studied Maths and physics and she was a good student. She worked with Pierre Curie, another researcher in physics. They married in 1895. Together, they discovered radium and polonium. In 1903, Marie Curie received the Nobel Prize in Physics. She was the first woman to ever win a Nobel Prize. She shared this prize with her husband and Henri Becquerel, a man who had helped them with their research. Marie won another Nobel Prize in 1911. Marie Curie is now known as Madame Curie and the results of her studies are still helping people who suffer from certain illnesses. Madame Curie was indeed one of history’s greatest minds.

I was traveling around England last summer and decided to go on a ghost tour in York. The guide took us to all the spooky old buildings and told us about all the ghosts. The tour was at night and I got really scared. I went back to the hotel, but alone in my room, I couldn’t sleep all night. That's the last time I go on a ghost tour!

 

Speaker B

I was in Italy on a business trip and my colleagues suggested going to the opera one evening. Now, I generally don’t enjoy performances of any kind, so I wasn’t sure about going with them. Anyway, in the end I went and … well, what a night! The scenery, the singing, the costumes and the make-up were just amazing. I had a

fantastic time and I’d love to go to another opera.

Last summer in Thailand, I got on a bus to go back to my hotel late one night and started chatting with some locals. What I didn't know was that I was on the wrong

bus! When I realized it, I was really far away from my hotel so a kind couple invited me to their home. We chatted all evening and had a wonderful meal. Then they took me back to my hotel. It was an incredible experience.

My flight to India went well apart from one thing – my backpack went to Switzerland! The airline apologized and even paid for me to stay in a hotel in Delhi until my backpack arrived. I saw all the attractions in Delhi and had an amazing time. The only problem was wearing the same clothes for three days!

I couldn't wait to take lots of photographs on the boat trip to Monkey Beach. Unfortunately, the sea was rough and I got seasick. While the other tourists were up on deck, I was below feeling very ill. I didn't get any photos and I didn't even see one monkey!

Краткое описание документа:

Данный сборник вариантов, представленных в формате КИМов ОГЭ, позволяет провести контрольную проверку усвоения изученного материала каждого модуля учебника. К тому же, эту проверку легко теперь осуществить в виде экзаменационного КИМа, но на базе изучаемого учебника определенной ступени обучения (в данном случае, 6 класс). Это пособие помогает начать готовить учащихся к выполнению нужного формата заданий и в 6 5 классе, продолжая курс, начатый еще в 5 классе. Учитель получает возможность познакомить детей с новым форматом заданий и время для того, чтобы их подготовить к сдаче экзамена по английскому языку в 9-м классе.
